Our neighbourhood is safe to walk around and park outside. Apart from being walking distance from swimming beaches (Seaforth, Boulders and Windmill Beaches), a small grocery store around the block, called Seven Penguins, is good for essentials, but the Harbour Bay Mall just outside of Simon’s Town, offers a Woolworths, Pick ‘n Pay for more options for grocery shopping. There are a few great spots down the road from us en-route to Boulders Beach for coffee and something to eat. Seaforth Beach is literally 200m from our front door!


For bigger shopping or medical attention, Harbour Bay Mall is located 4km from us with 35 stores ranging from upmarket eateries to premium convenience stores.

 We have off-street parking bays off Queen's Road where our guests can park, but Seaforth Beach Parking is also below the house, with plenty of parking. You can walk anywhere from the house as it is on the Main Road level, so no steep hills to climb and within 1km of most shops, restaurants and beaches.

Cape Point, located at the tip of the Cape Peninsula 60 km south-west of Cape Town, is a stunning nature reserve within the Table Mountain National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Historically significant, Cape Point has long been a maritime landmark, initially named the "Cape of Storms" by explorer Bartolomeu Dias in 1488. Visitors can explore the area's scenic beauty, spot shipwrecks along the coast, hike trails, and ride the Flying Dutchman funicular to the iconic lighthouse. The region is also a haven for activities such as whale watching, spot a zebra or ostrich, to mountain biking, and diving, making it a top destination for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike.

Discover the breathtaking beauty and ecological significance of False Bay, a Mission Blue marine "Hope Spot" celebrated for its exceptional biodiversity and vital role in ocean health. Located in the eco-conscious town of Simon’s Town, False Bay offers warm, protected waters teeming with marine life, spectacular whale sightings in winter, and incredible underwater visibility. 


There are a few diving companies operating from Simon's Town, including Cape RADD and Impact Divers (Research and Diver Development), Kayak Cape Town (kayak trips to Boulders Beach to see the Africa Penguins), Pisces Divers (also offers diving courses and excursions) and The Boat Company: The only boat operator licensed for whale and dolphin watching in Simon’s Town, also for trips to Seal Island and Cape Point. nestled on Lalaphanzi Farm in Cape Point, The Scone Shack is a charming off-grid café known for its freshly baked scones.

 Also visit the Deep South Distillery is the southernmost distillery on the Cape Peninsula.  They specialise in distilling small-batch, hand-crafted spirits made with love, care and pride.
